INVISALIGN
WHAT IS INVISALIGN?
Invisalign is an alternative to traditional braces used to straighten teeth.
Anyone with traditional braces will say, "they are a hassle". Thankfully, there is an easier alternative that is faster and typically cheaper too!
Here are the main differences:
TRADITIONAL BRACES
Brackets, wires, and rubber bands
Food gets stuck in your braces
Limited diet
Intense, initial pressure that adjusts only when you visit your dentist
Average treatment length:
18 - 24 months
INVISALIGN
Clear, discrete aligners
Remove when eating and brushing
No dietary restrictions
Gentle, constant pressure that adjusts with each new aligner
Average treatment length:
12 months
HOW IS INVISALIGN DIFFERENT
FROM TRADITIONAL BRACES?
INVISALIGN PROCESS
The process typically takes around fourteen months*
START
SCAN AND PLAN
3D imaging technology will determine the structure of your current smile, and your dentist will design a "smile plan" based on your needs.
1 - 2 MONTHS
PICKUP ALGINERS*
Pickup your first set of aligners at your dentist's office. They will ensure everything fits properly.
+
SET AND FORGET
It's time to start your journey! Depending on your smile plan, aligners will be worn 1-2 weeks before switching to a new set.
4 - 6 MONTHS
REVIEW AND RESUPPLY
Your dentist will monitor your progress every 6-8 weeks, and supply you with the next set of aligners. Some discomfort is completely normal when starting a new aligner.
14 MONTHS*
CELEBRATE AND RETAIN
You've worked hard to align your smile, and it's time to say goodbye to aligners. Why not keep your dream smile the rest of your life? Ask your dentist about a retainer that is right for you.
*Your Smile Plan is unique and may require longer than 14 months. For the best results, wear your Invisalign 20 to 22 hours a day.
