WHAT ARE DENTURES?
A denture is a removable dental appliance that replaces missing teeth and surrounding tissue. They closely resemble your natural teeth, will restore, and can even improve your smile! Dentures come in two categories:
COMPLETE
When all of your
natural teeth are missing
PARTIAL
When some of your
natural teeth are missing
DENTURE INSTALLATION
There are two ways to install dentures:
1
TRADITIONAL - This process is typical when the patient has been without teeth and healed, or if they are replacing an existing set of dentures.
2
IMMEDIATE - made in advance, and placed immediately after teeth have been removed. Patients will have teeth during the healing process. The dentures will be adjusted after the gum tissue heals.
